Christians in Muslim nations
(For Egypt's Copts see Egypt's Christians: The Copts)
Introduction
In this catalogue we attempt to document, through published news and views, the state of non-Muslims in predominantly Muslim nations.
Also included are any forms of hate speech, discrimination, or racism by official or mainstream Muslim entities, religious leaders, academics, politicians, media and media personalities, etc. practiced against non-Muslims in those nations.
Despite the loud negative propaganda already out there about the state of Christians in Muslim nations promoted by anti-Muslim groups, especially a few Christian conservative/evangelical groups with suspect agendas, HaSM still feels an obligation, even as an organization formed specifically to defend Muslims against the hate of such groups, to do its best to shed light on and protest all the real abuses and wrongs non-Muslims are subjected to in Muslim nations.
Given the persistent and widespread problem of propaganda and counter-propaganda, usually coming from marginal groups on all sides, we do our best to get the information items we post here from credible sources, such as prominent news agencies, or credible mainstream Christian or Muslim groups, news sources or web sites (and Hindu, etc., in such cases).
We similarly never resort to marginal or suspect resources on the Muslim side for information on the abuse or wrongs that Muslims are subjected to (or any other information, for that matter, from such websites).
We have to keep in mind that some on all sides do use and abuse conflicts by exaggerating, and in some instances even fabricating, stories, which only leads to more violence and division. We must beware of such less than benign intentions, usually driven by hatred, but also a craving for attention, self-promotion and other selfish interests.
