Canada's Heroes Honour Roll
Honour Roll
Canadian men and women killed or injured in the line of duty, or while helping other nations; and Canadian men and women who deserve special recognition for their actions overseas in times of peace or war.
Nothing saddens Canadians more than when fellow Canadians serving overseas, helping other nations and peoples, particularly Muslim ones, get killed or injured. We feel devastated by such tragedies. We also feel deeply indebted to them for their selfless and caring actions, leaving their homes and families behind to help other people in need.
HaSM strongly condemns any attacks on Canadians in Afghanistan. Those men and women are out there genuinely trying to help and bring peace to that troubled nation. They are not there to occupy anyone, to exploit anyone, or to accomplish anything for their own interests.
We abhor all wanton violence meant to return Afghanistan to the horrific times of the Taleban, whether it leads to the death or injury of Canadians, Afghans, or any other innocents. Still when Canadians are the victims, it's different, since they didn't have to be there offering help to others. It deeply pains and upsets us.
Those killed or injured while helping others out of altruism - even if they are paid military service men and women - make the most noble sacrifice ever.
We offer our deepest sympathies to the families of those Canadian heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty, and our prayers to those who were injured, wishing them speedy recoveries.
